GreenEarth Cleaning is a non-toxic dry cleaning process that uses a silicone-based solution derived from sand instead of petroleum, like most traditional solvents. The system is designed to provide high-quality garment care while being gentler on fabrics, people, and the environment.
Yes. GreenEarth’s proprietary cleaning solution is non-toxic and chemically inert, meaning it does not react with fabrics or create the harsh chemical exposure associated with traditional dry cleaning solvents. Unlike dry cleaning systems that use regulated solvents, the GreenEarth Cleaning System is not regulated and does not require special permits for use. Our silicone-based solution also has a long history of use in cosmetics and personal care products, making it a gentler option for those with sensitive skin.
Our GreenEarth Affiliates deliver a noticeably better garment care experience. Clothes look brighter, feel softer, and are completely odor-free. Our gentle process also helps preserve delicate fabrics, colors, trims, and garment structure over time, leaving your favorite items looking like new, longer.
The same silicone-based fluid used in the GreenEarth Cleaning System is also found in common cosmetics and personal care products, giving it a long history of research and safe everyday use. Unlike traditional dry cleaning solvents based on petroleum and alcohols, GreenEarth’s non-toxic process avoids the harsh chemical exposure and environmental concerns associated with conventional systems.
That means GreenEarth is not only safer for dry cleaning customers and employees, but also for the communities surrounding GreenEarth locations.
Many alternative cleaning methods are positioned as safer than traditional perc dry cleaning—and they are—but each comes with limitations. CO2 cleaning proved expensive and difficult to operate at scale, while wet cleaning is an excellent complementary process but can be challenging to use exclusively across all garment types. Hydrocarbon remains the most common alternative to perc, but it is still a petroleum-based solvent regulated by the EPA and requires hazardous waste disposal.
GreenEarth offers a premium, environmentally non-toxic alternative that combines high-quality cleaning performance with exceptional garment compatibility. Its gentle, chemically inert silicone-based process safely cleans a wider range of fabrics and trims without the harsh chemical odor associated with traditional solvents.
Unlike other alternative solvents such as K4 or Sensene, GreenEarth is also backed by a dedicated company and global support network, providing Affiliates with ongoing technical support, marketing resources, industry advocacy, and continued investment in research and innovation.

Many Affiliates experience reduced operating costs through lower utility usage, fewer garment damage claims, reduced finishing time, and decreased hazardous waste handling requirements.
GreenEarth’s activated clay cold filtration system changes the nature of the waste produced from liquid hazardous waste to a solid filtration waste. As a result, many GreenEarth cleaners have qualified for non-hazardous waste disposal, including disposal through standard municipal trash services.
