Gibson’s Cleaners: Supporting Childhood Cancer Through The McConnell Classic
Toronto based Affiliate, Gibson’s Cleaners has been known as the Thoughtful Cleaner since 1929.Since its inception in 1994, Gibson’s has been a steadfast supporter of The McConnell Classic, an annual golf tournament that raises money for Campfire Circle, an organization dedicated to bringing joy and healing to children and families facing childhood cancer and illness. This beloved event has raised an impressive $1.5 million, providing over 520 weeks of transformative camp experiences for young campers. Through the generosity of donors, players, and volunteers, The McConnell Classic has become more than just a sporting tradition—but a way to gather a community of thoughtful individuals to rally around an amazing cause. Throughout its 30-year life, the McConnell Classic has included golf foursomes and sponsorship support from parties across the garment care industry, including suppliers, CFA board members, and Allied Trades.
Grand Opening of Green Press Cleaners in Maple, Ontario

Snedicor’s Cleaners’ Interview with CINET
At a glance, the International Committee of Textile Care (CINET) interviewed GreenEarth Affiliate Jim Gilligan, owner of Snedicor’s Cleaners. Jim Gilligan, an avid outdoorsman and nature lover, transformed his family’s century-old dry-cleaning business into an environmentally conscious operation. When his father bought the dry cleaner in the early 1980s, the plant didn’t use a sustainable process. Determined to align the business with his environmental values, Jim sought out eco-friendly cleaning methods.
In the late 1990s, Jim discovered GreenEarth Cleaning, an innovative and sustainable dry-cleaning solution. After witnessing its success in Australia, he invested in a GreenEarth system in 2006. Jim’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond cleaning techniques. In 2020, his company was named Environmentally Conscious Business of the Year.
Technological advancements also play a crucial role. Jim utilizes AI for efficiency in delivery and production, enhancing transparency and management. With a small, loyal team of 12, he maintains high-quality service and pricing transparency, promoting sustainable fashion by educating customers on garment care. Jim’s vision for the future includes doubling business volume while continuing to lead in eco-friendly practices.
